Sunday Strolls…

This weekend I thought I would spend my time wisely with Ben, eating good food and having a little Sunday stroll along the beach. I even managed to get a few good photos using my new Sony A5000 camera, which can I just say is amazing so far.

We went for food at a favourite up here in Newcastle called Longhorns, a barbecue smoke-house that sells the most delicious meats! I went for the 2 meats and 2 sides options in which I chose two sausages, as I can’t even explain how tasty they are and a side order of seasoned fries and sweet potato fries, I definitely over ordered on the fries! I can’t fault this place and I would highly recommend if you live in or around Newcastle or are up here visiting!

We then finished the day off with a little stroll along Cresswell Beach, over in Northumberland. The weather was questionable and let’s just say it wasn’t a very long walk however the photo’s came out better than I thought they would.

Office Decor | Inspiration #2

Office Inspiration

I haven’t done a “inspiration” post in a while and I was feeling a little bit creative so thought I’d share a new one with you. Today’s post is all about the greatness that is office decor, something that is extremely popular within the blogging community. I personally love anything to do with interior design. From kitchen designs to picking the smallest accessories I could sit and do it all day long, so I throughly enjoy doing these kind of posts.

Your office is somewhere that should make you feel comfortable when sitting working for hours throughout the day. Somewhere where you can express your interest in interior design in your own way without anybody else’s say in it. There could be so many things you can think about when designing a room however on the other hand you could decide you want something fairly minimal which is another big trend over recent months.

Pinterest is the place to be when looking for inspiration for literally, anything! I have gathered a variety of different images that I would use for inspo when I eventually get round to moving out and having my very own office. I am also looking for little home-ware brands and shops, whether they are in my area or not so do let me know in the comments if you know of any.

Frank Body | Review

Frank Body is a Aussie based company which ships worldwide, creating the most moisturising and truly wonderful body scrubs, face scrubs and cleansers, body creams and much more.

I recently purchased one of their body scrubs, the Cacao one to be precise. As I suffer from dry skin, I started to read up on some natural products that I may find would help my skin, and as to my surprise this popped up within my search. I decided this scrub was the best one for myself and was delighted to eventually be able to try one after hearing so much about the company.

An antioxidant rich, natural ingredients will scrub away dry, flaky skin and target pesky skin conditions like cellulite and stretch marksFrank Bod

Some of the ingredients that the product includes are; roasted and ground Robusta coffee beans, organic Cacao extract, cold pressed almond oil, and finally cold pressed Macadamia oil. Each one of these gives a different effect when using the product. The roasted and ground coffee beans exfoliates the skin  whilst also targeting psoriasis, eczema, acne and scarring.

I would highly recommend them as a company if you are looking for something a little bit different to your normal exfoliator or body wash! If you are interested in any of their products head over to their website to find out which one is best for you –

Everyday Makeup | 2016

I have recently switched up my everyday make-up look so I thought it was the perfect time to share my new one with you all. It is very very simple, because the last thing I want to do for work is wear a full face of my more expensive make-up, that I would normally just wear for a night out, ( let me know if you would like a night out make-up look! )

I start off with my holy grail, which is my moisturiser. I have used this Neutrogena moisturiser for about 3 years straight now and I swear by it, especially for my skin type! To follow I apply my foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear with a beauty blender for a full and even coverage and then my concealer,Urban Decay Naked Skin, which as you can see I have a lighter shade which I use to highlight under my eyes, my cheek bones and down the centre of my nose. This just gives you a bright and more illuminated look before adding your highlighter! Then to finish my base off I use my trusty Mac Studio Fix powder which is another holy grail in my make-up collection. And that’s it for my base…

I then move onto my contour and highlight which again is fairly simple but would be slightly heavier if I was going out out. I used my all time favourite bronzing powder, which is the Two Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. I literally swear by this product, it gives such a subtle but effective bronzed look for everyday wear then you can slowly build it up if you were wanting a more intense look. To finish off I use the classic Soft and Gentle highlight from Mac to give my that extra glow on my cupids bow, down the centre of my nose and along my cheekbones.

Next is my eyebrows, the most enjoyable  part of doing my makeup. There’s never one day that they are the same as the day before! I used probably the most raved about eyebrow product of 2015 Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in dark brown from half way along my brow and through the arch however I then switch over to to Charcoal Brown from Mac to fill in the start of my brow for a more natural and even look.

My final step is to apply my eye-liner and my mascara. I went through a phase of not particularly being fussed by mascara’s until I received this Urban Decay Perversion one for Christmas along with the eye-liner which I have sadly lost but was also amazing! I also use possibly one of the cheapest eye-liner on the market, Natural Collection Liquid Liner, however I have sworn by it for years. It stays on literally all day and I mean you can’t want much more from a eye-liner can you? If I had to change one thing it would be the applicator but I can live with it.
To finish off my overall look I simply spray Mac’s Fix+ all over my face to make sure everything will stay in place for the day and to give my face that extra bit of moisture.

A Day in Edinburgh

On Saturday just gone ( 30th Jan ) me and Ben made our way up to Edinburgh for the day for a little “early” birthday trip, my birthday being on the 13th Feb. I had looked forward to it so much after feeling like I haven’t had a break since Christmas. We had quite an early train so we could make the most of the day, and arrived back about 8pm so it was a very long day, but I throughly enjoyed it.

I was over the moon when I found out there was an Anthropology and a Oliver Bonas in Edinburgh. I’ve heard so much about them both and never been able to visit one of their stores. I went for the classic mug everybody seem’s to have from Anthropology however didn’t end up getting anything from Oliver Bonas as it wasn’t a very big store so there wasn’t much to offer.

We also visited Hard Rock Cafe for lunch, which after trying to persuade my Dad to go to one on the last 3 holidays I’ve been on with him, I was finally able to go to one 4 cities later! The food was simple but so delicious and the cocktails were even tastier, plus you got a free glass with it if you bought the bigger one, which of course I did.

The final place we visited was a little bar, down one of the side streets called ” The Boozy Cow “. We were sceptical about going in at first however we definitely made the right choice once in. It was the coolest little bar, that reminded us of Longhorns with an added cocktail bar with the craziest tasting cocktails.

Here’s a few photo’s to follow…

Monthly Favourites | JANUARY

After receiving a fair few new things/products over the Christmas period I felt motivated to do a “cliche” favourites post, all about the things I have loved over the last month ( nothing like stating the obvious…). From beauty favourites to my current favourite scent there is a little bit of everything.

To start things off I just want to discuss how obsessed I am with the “Pomegranate Noir” scent from Jo Malone. The brand is known for it’s slightly pricier colognes, soaps, body wash and especially their candles. If you are a fan of unique scents such as English Pear & Freesia, French Lime Blossom, Lime Basil and Mandarin or maybe even Vanilla & Anise they definitely have something for everybody!

My personal favourite “Pomegranate Noir is described as a dark and enigmatic scent with hints of, of course pomegranate, raspberry, plum spiked with pink pepper and laced with Casablanca lily and spicy woods. When it comes to the cologne one or two sprays is enough for it last the full day, you can even get little travel size ones which would be perfect to keep in your hand bag, *example below.* As for the candles, they just make a room smell delightful!

I have also been loving two specific eye products from Mac this month. I am a little but late on the “paint pot” bandwagon, it probably has even been and gone by now however I am over the moon I have eventually got round to purchasing one. I went for the shade “camel coat“, which is a basic nude/taupey colour, perfect to use as a light base. I find that my shadows apply a lot easy when using one of these, I was getting slightly bored of my Urban Decay Primer Potion, even though I still swear by it I just wanted to try something new.

The second product I have been loving by MAC has to be their pigment in “Tana beautiful rose gold/copper colour. I have a fair few of their pigments and swear by them, they are perfect if you are wanting a strong, bold makeup look. Spraying a little bit of Mac’s fix+ onto a small brush makes it even most vibrant on your lid too!

My final two products are from Clinique. I have raved about the “Contouring Chubby Stick” for a while now and it is definitely a product I find myself returning too every time however I have recently started to use their “Highlighting Chubby Stick” and I love it! The only problem is they both only come in one shade, so it might not work the same for everybody, however the bronzing one does seem to adapt to my skin whether I have fake tanned or not. Using a bronzing powder over the top finishes it off perfectly too!

15 Facts About Me

30 Facts About Me

Hello.. so I am aware, “fact’s about me” posts/videos are extremely cliché, but I thought I would still put one up anyway’s just so I can say I’ve done one, and allows people to get to know me a little bit more. I feel like I have changed a lot since the last time I done one of these on my old blog so here goes…

What is your full name?
Hannah Ross

Zodiac Sign

Three Fears?
Being sick, Dying, and not getting out and doing something interesting with my life.

Three things I love..
Food, lazy days, and being productive

Favourite make-up brand.
Typically it has to be MAC as this is brand I have the most from, however I am loving my new Zoeva brushes, (do they class as “make-up” brand, I don’t know)

Favourite store.
My favourite place to shop has to be either Topshop or Urban Outfitters, they fit my style perfectly.

Any tattoo’s or piercings?
I have two tattoos and numerous piercings, all on my ears though so not very interesting. I have a small flower tattoo on the back of my ankle and “let it be” on my ribs. I also have my helix done in 4 different places on the ear and my lobes done 3 times each.

Favourite Quote?
“If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely” – Roald Dahl

Something you can’t leave the house with?
It has to be my phone and some sort of notepad. For the job I’m in, I am constantly writing notes, and as for my phone I mean I could probably leave without it but I don’t like to.

Biggest pet peeve?
I hate inconsiderate drivers, I can’t even explain how much this annoys me!

Best holiday?
I throughly enjoy every ski-ing holiday I go on, Italy, Austria and France are such beautiful places, however I have to say New York was the best trip I’ve ever had as of yet. Felt like a dream when I was actually there, even though I do wish I had of been the age I am now when we went so I could of appreciated it a little more!

One place you’ve always wanted to go?
This has to be Dubai. It just looks incredible. I think if I went I could walk round all day just snapping away at random things and come away with some amazing pictures. Also don’t get me started on the malls.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a hairdresser from a very, very young age however I found when I grew up this wasn’t the route I wanted to go down. I chosen to do a Fashion Diploma at college to then go into the job I am currently in which is a social media assistant and a designer sunglasses company, ( )

Proudest moment?
110% has to be the day I passed my driving test. I managed to pass it first time round and I have never felt a better feeling of hearing “you’ve passed”. I then managed to buy my own car just over a year later which was also another proud moment for me.

What’s your all time favourite perfume/scent?
It definitely has to be *Pomegranate Noir* from Jo Malone. If you haven’t smelt this you really need to! Also Jo Malone fragrances are so strong they last a life time, even if they are a little bit more expensive.

Now your a little bit closer to knowing a few things about me.

A new year brings motivation to many people however keeping that motivation is another story. There are days where you may find yourself in a “slump” where everything you’ve kept up over the last few weeks is forgotten about. I’ve came up with a few tips on how to stay positive and keep your motivation level at a high.

1. Goals

Remind yourself of goals you have set yourself. If you loose sight of your goals you slowly start to loose interest and motivation. Keep track of them and where they are heading, and progress that is being made. The closer you get to them the more determined you will be.

2. Weekly Check Points

Keep on track with what you’re doing so you don’t get side tracked or distracted. Keeping weekly notes will help you do this especially after a weekend not knowing where you left off.

3. Give yourself a break

Many people think powering through some work is the best option. It’s not. As a human you need breaks, your mind doesn’t function as effectively when it has been used for a long period of time. Having your dinner away from your desk for half an hour is always a good idea.

4. Caffeine

Even though it isn’t always the best option, having a mug of coffee or tea on a morning can help your concentration, and wakens your mind.

5. Exercise

Exercising on a morning allows your body to waken up before going to work. Your brain will already be functioning meaning it doesn’t need caffeine or other energy boosting drinks or snacks whilst sitting at your desk. It also overall makes you feel healthier and more up-beat.

6. Make lists

Making lists is always a good idea. Make lists of jobs that need to be done and tick them off as you go. Once you feel like the list is going down add some more on.

7. Have an attitude of expectancy.

You will get what you expect. Expect something great to happen for you every day and it will.

8.  Learn from your mistakes, instead of repeating them.

We all make mistakes; the key is to learn from them and keep on moving. Conduct regular self-evaluations and examine how you handled situations and what you could do differently next time. Write down possible solutions and outcomes so when you are faced with a problem you can properly think through the best way to handle it.

9. Celebrate Accomplishments

When you achieve something your proud of, treat yourself. Awards are a key part to staying motivated. Treat every accomplishment as a goal being reached, and reward yourself in a way you feel necessary whether it is a new bag, a trip away anything will feel great.

10. Stay Positive!!

No matter what, motivation goes hand in hand with positivity. Always keep your head up and keep pushing forward even when things are looking down.

When it comes to inspiration for anything, and I mean anything, Pinterest is where it is at. I could sit, as could many others I can imagine, for hours scrolling through the millions of images of home decor, pretty prints, and incredibly fashionable girls. There is nothing you can’t find on Pinterest.

And for this reason I decided I would start a monthly, for now anyway, this could change to weekly, post about different fields I have found inspiration for that month. This month I have went with my obvious favourite that is Interior Design/Home Décor.

My first question is; Where do these people live? Their homes are just amazing.
Second question is; Where do they find all of the their décor? I mean yes there is Ikea and Home Sense where you can find some unique pieces however these are just another level.
My aim is to find as many small home décor boutiques and websites as possible in the next few months and gain knowledge within this area.

I am constantly throwing together little boards of images of rooms or ornaments I like whilst browsing around the interest. This is one of them, minimalistic and slightly bohemian. Definitely right up my street.

If you know of any small boutiques or websites that cater for this trend please do let me know in the comments below, it would be greatly appreciated.

Even though I love all of the “What I got for Christmas” videos floating around YouTube at this time of year, I thought it would be fun to do something a little bit different with series of reviews of products I received for Christmas and how much I am enjoying them or maybe not as much.
